Actor Lee Min Ho’s appearance on the Chinese CCTV’s “New Year Gala” recorded the highest ratings.
According to Lee Min Ho’s agency on February 11, “Lee Min Ho’s appearance on the Chinese CCTV ‘New Year Gala,’ singing ‘Qing Fei De Yi,’ the opening song for the Taiwanese drama ‘Meteor Garden,’ recorded 9.65% in ratings. The broadcast was aired on 202 different channels simultaneously which totals up to 70.99% in ratings.”
On the day of the broadcast, the number of people connecting to CCTV’s website increased dramatically as Lee Min Ho’s appearance on the show approached. It was to the point where the servers began buffering. Weibo and other Chinese SNS sites were flooded with Lee Min Ho’s name, and the actor was ranked No. 1 on various Chinese search engines.
After his successful appearance on the show, Lee Min Ho expressed, “It was fun and an honor,” through his agency.
