Trouble Maker’s “Now” went from outside of the top 10 (No. 15) last week and moved up all the way to No. 1 this week. It is not a surprise considering that this song swept all music shows last week. The tiny margin of victory over Park Ji Yoon’s “Mr. Lee” is more shocking.
This is the first No. 1 song for Trouble Maker, the headline-grabbing duo made up of BEAST’s Hyun Seung and 4minutes’ HyunA. The self titled track “Trouble Maker” went to No. 2 early last year. “Now” is the title song from the duo’s second mini-album “Chemistry.” “Now” is an upbeat number composed by Shinsadong Tiger, Rado, and LE. The song holds lyrics about a dramatic situation between couples. As fans expected, “Now” features a seductive MV and dance performance.
For the second straight week, Park Ji Yoon’s “Mr. Lee” nearly upset the No. 1 favorite. It is only five points behind “Now” this week and remains at No. 2. Despite falling a little bit short of the top spot again this week, Park Ji Yoon has made a surprisingly successful comeback this fall that will revitalize her music career.
There is only one other brand new song in the top 10 this week. R&B quartet Brown Eyed Soul is back in the top 10 as their latest hit “Always Be There” moves up 18 spots to No. 4. This song was released to commemorate their ten years in the music scene. Composed and penned by the singers themselves, the song thanks fans for their support over the years. “Always Be There” is different from other Brown Eyed Soul’s songs as it has a more pop-oriented, mainstream melody that many fans will love.
